Special Project with Araz.fm
HerStory.az is delighted to look back on its inspiring collaboration with Araz FM on the special project "Qadınnamə" in 2022. This radio series unveiled the captivating stories of Azerbaijani women who made history through their bravery, talent, and perseverance, bringing their inspiring legacies to the ears and hearts of listeners nationwide.
"Qadınnamə" aired every Saturday and Sunday three times a day, at 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 7:00 PM, offering listeners a chance to explore the lives of women who have left an indelible mark on Azerbaijan’s history and culture.
The stories featured included the lives of the Talibkhan sisters and the enduring legacy of actress Nasiba Zeynalova. The series also spotlighted figures such as Huseyn Arablinski, a pioneer in Azerbaijani theater; Princess Mehpare, who devoted her life to charitable endeavors, from Shusha to Berlin; and Elza Ibrahimova, a musical genius whose works continue to inspire. Other featured stories included Sureyya Agaoglu, Azerbaijan and Turkey’s first female lawyer; and Qeysar Kashiyeva, a groundbreaking painter.
Adding to this impressive lineup were narratives about cultural icons such as composer Shafiqa Akhundova, and dancer Roza Jalilova. Through these stories, HerStory.az and Araz FM honored the incredible contributions of these women, educating and inspiring listeners across Azerbaijan.
This collaboration would not have been possible without the invaluable support of Araz FM and Murad Dadashov, Head of Khazar TV and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan. HerStory.az extends its heartfelt thanks to Araz FM for providing a platform to share these powerful stories and to Murad Dadashov for his unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting Azerbaijani culture. The overwhelming engagement from listeners confirmed the importance of highlighting women’s contributions to Azerbaijan’s history and society.
