HerStory.az was created in 2017 by Arzu Jaeed as a labor of love — entirely self-funded, born from a deep sense of responsibility to document and celebrate the lives, struggles, and contributions of Azerbaijani women across time.
What began as a humble platform has grown into a living archive: a place where voices are heard, stories are honored, and silence is broken. Our mission is simple yet powerful — to preserve memory, spark conversation, and reclaim space for women in the narrative of our nation.
Through carefully curated publications, an ever-growing photo archive, heartfelt interviews, thought-provoking special projects, and podcast series, HerStory.az continues to grow as a powerful tribute to the resilience, brilliance, and complexity of Azerbaijani women — past and present.
We believe that behind every name forgotten in a footnote, there is a voice that deserves to be remembered. HerStory.az exists to bring those voices forward — not only to look back, but to shape a more conscious and inclusive future. By highlighting untold stories and sparking dialogue around both history and present-day realities, we aim to shift perceptions and plant the seeds of change.
This is more than a project. It is a promise to remember. A space of truth, tenderness, and resistance. A space where history finally meets her story.
